Sha’Carri Richardson shares her favorite foods in Dallas, including a special mention of Oak Cliff.

The sprinter, who began her journey towards gold in the 100m dash at the Paris Olympics on August 2, won her opening heat with ease and will advance to the semifinal round on Saturday.

Though she is currently far from home in Paris, Richardson recently shared her favorite food spots in Dallas in an interview.

Richardson favors Golden Chick for chicken tenders. Established in 1967 just south of Austin, the chain is now headquartered in Richardson and boasts over 200 locations across the southern U.S.

For pizza, Richardson highlights Big T Plaza in Oak Cliff, saying, “If you know, you know Dallas.” Big T Plaza is a single-level shopping center on Village Fair Dr., offering a range of stores including apparel, jewelry, and hair braiding.

When it comes to burgers, Richardson heads to Blackjack Pizza, which the Dallas Observer describes as having “one of the most slept-on burgers in Dallas.”

For tacos, her go-to spot is Fuel City Tacos, located south of downtown on Riverfront Blvd., known for its quick and affordable street tacos.

“There are so many great places, and that’s why when I get home, I have to control myself,” Richardson said.

She also mentioned Carter High School as her “place to have a good cry.” “If I’m back home and need to unwind, I go to my old high school track,” Richardson explained. “I sit there, reflect on where I started, and appreciate how far I’ve come.”
